Ants belong to a large class of all-changing insects (insects that always have a mating stage), which are widespread throughout the world and ecologically diverse, the hymenoptera.
They live in organized colonies and their nests are in tree trunks or in the form of basements in the ground. Characteristic of the nests is that always, above them, the largest amount of soil is concentrated to the north. There live the queens that lay eggs, the workers, the larvae (developmental form of ants) and finally the males, which participate only in fertilization. The colony is protected by barren females, the soldier soldiers, which are large and have large jaws.
Ants are usually brown to black in color, however there are some species that have other colors such as red, yellow or white. They are very strong insects and can lift 25 times their weight.
Ants are highly annoying insects and this is because we always see them in very large numbers in our premises. They prefer places with heat and humidity and usually go to houses where they process food, usually in kitchens, canteens, bakeries, hotels, hospitals. They affect all types of human and animal food, especially jams, sugar and honey, meat, cheese, fats, etc. Their nests are usually located in inaccessible places under floors, between walls, behind bodies and pipes of radiators or stoves, making them difficult to deal with.
